Effect of number of cycles on SILAR deposited ZnSe thin films

Nanocrystalline zinc selenide (ZnSe) thin films find important applications in the field of optoelectronics due to their peculiar physical properties. The deposition ZnSe through modified chemical method namely SILAR technique is described here. cationic precursor used was aqueous solution acetate and anionic sodium selenosulphate. Ammonia served as pH adjuster both precursors. room temperature resulted well adhered after 40, 50 60 cycles. Samples showed polycrystalline hexagonal wurtzite structure exhibited a well-defined nano structure. Film thickness near 400 nm grain size around 20 nm. Both increased with number crystal defect parameters like micro strain dislocation density reduction increase cycles indicating better quality. very small absorbance high transmission above 80% towards visible infra-red region. optical band gap widened up 2.90 eV confirmed from PL spectra.
